Today I decided I needed to begin my ‘a drawing a day’ task due to the fact that I am not consumed by my job because it is the school holidays. I set up to begin drawing a pineapple with a black ink pen…two continuous blind-contour line drawings and an hour later was hooked! I thought that I had the ability to do a ‘quick’ drawing but today it wasn’t possible, I had become obsessed with understanding the contours and details of this form. I had made mistakes in my initial drawing of the leaves and absolutely couldn’t leave it be.
As you can see it is not finished but tomorrow I will attempt another and perhaps again the next day, and the next until the fruit is ripe enough to eat.
Brighton signs 2012
This is one of the beautifully mundane sights that I see on my way home every day. I hope to capture more of my walk throughout the coming months and perhaps something remotely exciting may happen within the captured moment.
